  • Note: Abrupt beginning and end
  • Devotees asked Srila Gurudeva about samadhi.
  • Srila Gurudeva said that we should contemplate: “My heart, indeed my very self, is with the gopis and also with Sukadeva Gosvami.” We must have the same moods as they have and be on the same platform as they are. The attainment of such absorption is called samadhi.
  • Explained the verse 'vraja-janarti-han [O You who destroys the sorrows of the residents of Vraja; O best among heroes, the beam of whose mere smile shatters the pride of Your near and dear ones, which arises from good fortune and from the sulky mood arising from that pride. O dear friend, please fulfill the desire of Your maidservants. At least this once, kindly show us helpless girls your attractive lotus face and make us happy].
  • Meaning of 'vraja-janarti-han'. Gopis said to Krsna that he destroyed the sufferings of the residents of Vraja (vraja-jana) and the sufferings of people in general. Yet, although we are also vraja-jana, you are giving us distress.
  • Gopis said to Krsna that with your mere smile, you destroy the burning torment caused by cupid’s arrows.
  • Meaning of 'Bhaja sakhe bhavat kinkarih'. Gopis said, “You should serve your kinkaris; One devotee read the commentary of Srila Visvanatha Cakravarty Thakura on this verse.
  • To explain the gopis' words, Srila Gurudeva quoted and explained the verse 'vyoma-yana-vanitah' (SB 10.35.3).
  • There were two reasons Krsna left the rasa dance. The first was to remove the gopis' pride in their own good fortune, and the second was to please Srimati Radhika and assuage her jealous anger.
  • Gopis said to Krsna that your smile alone would have been enough to remove our pride, but by giving us the pain of separation, you used an atom-bomb to destroy such a little thing.
  • Gopis said to Krsna that You had stolen our minds, hearts, moods, and even two dear sakhis, 'Sleeping' and 'Fainting'.
  • Srila Gurudeva explained why separation mood is more valuable than meeting.
  • This mood of separation between Krsna and the gopis is the main wealth of rasika and bhavuka bhaktas. Srila Gurudeva quoted the verse 'nigama kalpa taror' (SB 1.1.3).
  • Meaning of 'bhaja sakhe bhavat'. Gopis said Krsna that we are also Your sakhis. You should certainly serve us, but not just by appearing before us; you should decorate us.
  • Srila Gurudeva said that when there is a competition between Krsna and Srimati Radhika, we want the whistle to be blown to indicate Srimati Radhika’s victory. Radhika will be so happy, and we will applaud and celebrate.
  • It is Krsna Himself who will experience the greatest pleasure when He is defeated.
  • Srila Gurudeva told devotees that he has given them a taste, and now they can read themselves.
